In May, the legendary Notorious B.I.G. would’ve turned 44, and in continuing to celebrate his life and times in music and culture, Puff Daddy has announced he’s reuniting his Bad Boy family for one grandiose tribute show. Taking place in Biggie’s hometown backyard at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the two-night affair will feature performances from Faith Evans (who is finalizing a collaborative album with her late husband featuring his unreleased verses), Lil Kim, Mase, The Lox, Total, 112, Mario Winans and French Montana. Jay z and Mary J. Blige are also expected to makes a special appearance on the first night, with DMX sharing the stage on night two.
“This is the first time we’ll all be on stage,” Puff told Ebro’s Hot 97 morning show. “I’m extremely humbled, all of us are, about the intensity in which the tickets were sold.”
“Bad Boy concert is a whole different type of thing,” he adds. “Most importantly you have to come with your positive vibrations, love and ready to party and celebrate. This ain’t the concert to stand around to. This is hit after hit after hit, we did the set list and its over 80 songs. It’s going to be a constant barrage of emotional feelings to take you through a history of past, present and future.”
In regards to the future of Bad Boy, Puff commented on signing his son Christian Combs two week prior to his 18th birthday. “I never been in the studio with my son and I never gave him a beat, but he’s been wanting to be a rap artist since he was three.”
“He’s the only person I know that’s flyer than me, he’s my hero. He’s such a gentlemen, works hard, and his records are undeniable.”
